- To finish my college prep so I can go to university.
- To save up some money. I've got about a grand in the bank, but I also just spent four grand on a trip to China. Practical? Nope. Exciting? Hells yes!
- To go completely vegetarian. I was doing really amazing until Carrington, a once-yearly music festival/rave on my lovely island. I gave into temptation and had a really amazing hot dog and beef jerky, and on one of my recovery days, steak with mushrooms and onions. Divine and so worth it. I'm reverting back to vegetarianism, I swear!
- To focus on more positivity.
- To learn how to drive. I practiced about three times all summer. However, my mother and I decided that once I move back home in a couple weeks, I must practice my little butt off until I can pass my driving test. Scary, indeed.

how 'bout them resolutions?
All this preparation for the new school year (which, sadly, I have no part in) has gotten me thinking about those darned resolutions I made last December. Did I actually fulfill anything this year? How about you?

I just wanted to say...
That my life might juts be a bit more awesome if I had these boots to wear all day, every day.
They are just so lovely! So, instead of packing like I should, I have spent a ridiculous amount of time on Polyvore imagining just what I would wear if I ever managed to get them. Voila...

Loving Animals while Looking Great!
Hello lovelies! Did you know that I absolutely adore animals? I really do! That's why when I am shopping for cosmetics, I always try and find brands that don't test on animals. You don't need to go to an expensive store to find these products, either! There's a lot of widely-available drugstore brands which are cruelty free. Here's some of my favorites!
For hair care, right now I am loving Down Under Natural's. They're a Canadian company that you can find in most supermarkets. Their hair products are made with biodegradable ingredients, they're free of sulphates (which are damaging to your hair and the environment!), they're not tested on animals, and they only cost around two to three dollars! Plus, they smell really nice and fruity, and they actually work well! Before, I was using Green Beaver shampoo and conditioner. They're made with completely natural organic ingredients, and are also a Canadian company. However, the bottles set me back about $9 (each!) and I found you had to use a lot of product to get it to work decently. It did smell like cranberries, though, and I got lots of compliments on how my hair smelled!
As for skin care, I actually don't use many products. I find that the best things you can do for you skin is to drink a lot of water, eat well, and sleep a lot! I can eat like, three chocolate bars and my skin will be fine, but go for a night of binge drinking and fast food and in the next morning, it will definitely show on my complexion! Other than that, I wash my face with warm water before bed, and I moisturize with JASON Vitamin E Pure Beauty Oil. For zits or weird blotchy areas, I use Thursday Plantation 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil. It's a natural antiseptic, and works wonders on my face!
Sometimes, it's hard to find good makeup that isn't tested on animals. My favorite company right now is NYX. Their eyeshadow is super pigmented, and I think they're pretty much like the poor girl's MAC!
Above is some of their eye products, just put on my hand with a damp brush. The thinner purple line is an eye/eyebrow pencil in 917 Purple, and the eyeshadow from top to bottom is Prune, Purple, Cool Blue, Chick, and Tropical. They also make a wicked mascara, and from what I've heard, their nail polish is pretty good too! I get all my NYX products at a Save-On Foods, but I'm sure they're pretty easy to find. I can't remember the exact price of everything, but it's a little bit higher than other drugstore brands though not much. Other cosmetic brands I dig are Physician's Formula, Bonne Bell and Revlon, all which don't test their products on animals! Hurrah!
If you ever are curious what companies test on animals and which don't, the Caring Consumer website has a very thorough list, and there is even a printable guide that you can bring shopping! I know that the website is sponsored by PETA, but don't worry, it's not super brainwashy or anything! I know that PETA can be quite pushy with their campaigns, and though I'm all for animal rights, even I don't agree with all of their stuff (Calling fish "sea kittens" to discourage eating it? Umm, no). Anyway, I hope this helps you out a bit! Have a great day, lovelies! ♥ ♥ ♥
ps. I did this of my own free will, no companies paid me or bribed me or anything! I bought all of the products myself. SO THERE!

Feck Yeah, Friday! - March 26
Source: Keri Smith (Via Gala Darling) ♥
Hello lovelies! It's finally Friday, yippie! Today is an excellent day to think of things that make you happy to be alive! I'm grateful for my wonderful Mommy, loving boyfriend, quirky friends, and my kitties! I'm really glad that my concert/mexi-hoodie adventure turned out alright (with the exception of Zack having an asthma attack at the concert, boo!), and that so far my Chem course is going well. We're almost done!
AH! The Tech N9ne concert was really fun! All the performers were really good (I really liked The Scale Breakers and Broken Logic) and Tech N9ne totally blew me awaaaaaay! Gah. Super cool. I didn't bring a camera, but it didn't really matter because there were so many tall people everywhere! That snapshot up there is one that Zack took on his phone. I think it was when the Scale Breakers were performing. I wore my brand-new Mexi-hoodie all night! Apparently they're actually called Baja's or something like that, pah. It kept me very cozy and warm.
Anyways, what are you stoked for? You've gotta be stoked about something, because Feck Yeah! It's Friday!

Why don't you...
Little me, aged 13~ aweee! With my BFF
Hey lovelies, happy Monday! How are you? I am still super tired from the time change, waah! I really should be having a nap right now! But first, I would like to share some fun suggestions to brighten your day!
♥ Bake something yummy? I am totally cookingly-handicapped, but the other night I made butterscotch chip cookies, and they were actually really good!
♥ Spend some time with some pets? Even if you don't have any of your own, your local animal shelter probably appreciates volunteer dog walkers or cat groomers!
♥ Listen to some old CD's or tapes? I always laugh so hard at the music I liked three, four, or five years ago! I bet this will be really amusing when I am older!
♥ Go through your closet? I just weeded through my dresser and found a huge pile of clothes that just don't fit right, or make me feel happy anymore. I do have a special bin full of cool clothing that I'm saving for my offspring, of which I put all my band tee's, favorite pants, and really awesome shoes!
♥ Paint a picture? Even if you have no faith in your artistic abilities, just give it a shot! Bonus points if you give it to a friend later.
♥ Just chill out? Grab your favorite snacks, get in some comfy clothes, and watch your favorite TV show or movie!
♥ Call up a friend? Find someone to share your Monday miseries with! I guarantee it will make it much nicer.
♥ And finally, did you know that today is International Nap Day? Because that is totally my next course of action. Comfy couch, here I come!
Here's some music that I used to enjoy when I was younger! Hee hee!
The Offspring - Why Don't You Get a Job
Bowling for Soup - Girl All The Bad Guys Want
American Hi-Fi - Flavor of the Weak
Blink 182 - First Date
Have a great Monday, lovelies! ♥ ♥ ♥

Ahh.
Holy, that was quite a long gap for me to be away from my blog! I am so sorry, my wonderful readers! I think I am all better now, so I've got to get back into my routine. I'm about to begin a mini-rant about working in retail, so if you don't feel like reading that, then skip down a few paragraphs! ♥
Okay. Retail. Seriously? Cancer of the earth. I hate it so much! It's all profit-motivated, there's really no "doing it for the customer", unless you're doing it so the customer will spend more money. I swear to god, if I have to read one more memo with like, a thousand exclamation points and lame little clip-arts, I am going to ralph all over the break room (which, of course is covered in motivational posters of budget goals and "non-negotiables"). Don't get me wrong, the people I work with are amazing and the job itself isn't too bad at all... I guess it's just the concept I don't dig. /rant
On the bright side? I got a really awesome umbrella! See this, because I'm far too lazy to get it and take a picture (plus, it's bad luck to open one indoors, no?). I actually went thrifting the other day and got a lot of cool stuff. I found lots of tapes to listen to in the car (Vanilla Ice?! Fuck yeah!), a wide white pleather belt, a tunic that looks like it hopped right out of the Legend of Zelda universe, a Barbie and the Rockers VHS and Skate Fest '88, and some fabric which I have sewn into a cute little aprom! Lots of fun things to keep me busy. Anyways, I should go eat some dinner! Catch ya later, lovelies! ♥♥♥
Et aussi: I really think it would be beneficial if I had some sort of weekly segment going on here. What would you like to see on this blog? I am so totally open to suggestions. Just let me know in the comments!

Home is where the heart is...
And so, my loves, I would love to show you where the greatness which is this, Mishelle, Ma Belle, is created! (Is that, enough commas, for you?) Hehe! I just finished putting up my photo string, which I have been meaning to do for a long time.
And this is my crappy attempt at making a panoramic of most of my bedroom. No, you may not see the floor, because it is extremely messy and cluttered right now. So is my bed, if you couldn't guess. :) If you haven't noticed, I like retro-inspired things, and space! Amazing! There's also some of my art scattered throughout my room, and once I crank out a few more paintings, I think I'll make a post showing you guys them! Whee!
Anyways, it's quite past my bedtime right now. I've got Chemistry class tomorrow morning, eek! Must get much-needed sleep! I love you all, have a great night and I will be back soon!
...And this is what Boba has to say on the matter. What a grumpy little miss! ♥ ♥ ♥
Yippie! Hopefully as I take more pictures I will make more and have my room photo-licious. Mwahaha. Now, the true genius- my desk.
Yeah! This is where I blog, paint, do school work, and waste pretty much most of my time. My mom keeps trying to get me to get a new desk, but I'm kind of in love with the fakewood theme my room's got going! I definitely sit at a camping chair while I do my desking. Comfort? Totally. Mobility? Not so much. Anyways, it's quite past my bedtime right now. I've got Chemistry class tomorrow morning, eek! Must get much-needed sleep! Who wants to buy an island with me?
Hey lovelies! Excuse my lack of maturity, but I absolutely had to share this with you guys. My mom found this little gem while browsing oceanfront properties, and I fully believe that it is my destiny to own this island. For I present to you,
It's only about one million dollars, but I figure if I find enough people to pool their money together with me... well... Wouldn't that be awesome?!?! Owning Dick Island? Which just so happens to be shaped like male genitalia?!~ We could make Dick Castle, and call ourselves royalty! How fun would that be! Ah, to wake up and watch the sun rise while sitting and sipping tea off the eastern nut... :)

Video Games!
Hello lovelies! Here's a post on the things which take up most of my spare time (Next to painting and studying, and mindlessly browsing Facebook of course!)... Video games! *dun dun dun* My wonderful man actually got me a PS3 for my birthday, and I love it so much! We've only got a couple games so far, but I'll let you know what I think of the ones I play. First and foremost...
- Oblivion! This is my favorite game in the whole wide world. I even have it on my laptop! I've played all three versions of it, and next to computer, I think the Playstation version is pretty decent. The controls are fairly easy to use, and it's a very straightforward game. It starts out with a very detailed character creator, where you can tweak their faces quite precisely. There are a number of races and backgrounds to choose from, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. From there, once you complete the orientation, you are free to explore the world as you please. There is one main quest line, and a gazillion other quests you can choose to do, factions to join, skills to acquire... ahh. What a wonderful time waster! In the 31 days that we've had the game, my boyfriend has actually logged over 70 hours on it! It is soo addictive!
- Dragon Age: Origins - I just got this RPG for Christmas, and haven't really been able to play it much. It seems to be interesting though, for you can choose a race and background, and start off with a unique story. I'm pretty sure all the stories end up at the same place, in a giant war against some evil forces. It's your typical fantasy game with the character choice of Human, Elf or Dwarf, and you can choose to be a Warrior, Mage or Rouge, each with different bonuses. You have a main character and a party of up to 3 other characters, which you can switch to at any time. So far, it's pretty fun, but I haven't quite got all the controls yet which is pretty annoying. Oh well!
- Skate 2 - Yes, this is definitely my boyfriends game. He wouldn't let me create my own character on it, and I didn't want to mess up his account, so I haven't got to try this one much. It seems pretty fun, especially since you can move things around in the environment, and get off your board, which I'm pretty sure you couldn't do in the original game. You do tricks by moving and flicking the analog sticks, and it's not too hard to get a grasp on. I think I will look forward to playing this one more.
- Lego Batman - I also got this for Christmas, and I am stuck on the first level. Seriously. It is so upsetting! From what the instruction manual says, it should be a really fun game. You can play as Batman, Robin, or any of the villains! (Once you unlock them, that is.) So maybe I'll sneak a peek at a walkthrough, and get past that damned first stage.
So my deers, what do you think? Do you love gaming as well? Hate it? Think your console's better? Have a favorite game you'd like to share? I'd love to hear it all! ♥ ♥ ♥

What do YOU want to do? (& hair!)
Good afternoon my lovelies! How are you this fine day? I totally had a great idea for a post at like, two in the morning last night when I couldn't sleep. But then I finally fell asleep and now I can't recall! How lame. Oh well! At least I got some sleep.
So now it's a new year, and the start of a decade. I just listed my new years resolutions, but how about some stuff I want to do over the decade? Actually, this was my list of stuff to do before I die, but if I do it all in the next ten years, then I would have much more time to do more stuff! Yay!
Okay. Here goes... I want to...
♥ learn to play my guitar well ♥ become a half-decent hip-hop dj ♥ learn to skateboard ♥ and snowboard... ♥ and surf! ♥ learn to freestyle rap ♥ take a photography class ♥ travel around the world ♥ volunteer in africa ♥ learn to cook mad good ♥ learn to play the piano ♥ go to university ♥ learn to drive a stick shift ♥ design my own clothing ♥ actually make money doing something i like ♥ take a dance class ♥ or maybe gymnastics! ♥ try kickboxing ♥ develop my painting skillz ♥ learn to cut hair ♥
That's totally all I can think of right now. But how awesome would it be to just be able to say, "Look at all the shit I can do!" Right now I'm able to do most of the things on that list, but none particularly well.
Oh, and a random note: My boyfriend and I are flying out to Calgary at the end of January, and his hairstylist sister is going to do my hair! I think I'm going to cut my hair really short, for the first time ever! Yikes! What do YOU think about that, my lovelies? Long or short? Dye it darker? Lighter? Bright green? I'm up for anything! It's already been almost every color possible. (Want a pic? Just ask, they're funny hehe) This is what it looks like right now:
Mmm, half asleep bed hair. Tasty! I was thinking of doing something like the cut my friend Mallory has here:
But a bit different, you know, to not be a total copy cat! Anyways, I hope you're having a wonderful day. My mom actually just volunteered to take me thrifting! I don't think she knows what she's getting into! (I'm a browser, you know, I have to look at every single piece of clothing in the whole store, just in case!) Lovelovelove ♥

Bleh.
Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of interesting material here on my blog! I've been feeling super down for the past while. Like, to the point where nothing seems to make me happy. I'm constantly tired, sore and irritable, and it's really causing a strain on all of my relationships. I really don't know what to doooo... So is my blog going on hiatus? Probably not. I'm just giving you a heads-up. Lovelovelove! ♥

Autumn
Tomorrow is my last day of work on Cortes Island. After that, I'm packing up and heading back home to Campbell River. I've got an odd mix of melancholy feelings. I'm excited to move back home with mommy, to redecorate my old bedroom, start my pre-university schooling, get back into the loop with my old friends... but at the same time, I feel like I'm leaving a part of my heart behind. I've made such amazing friends over here throughout the summer, and had some absolutely unforgettable times. I learned so much more than I ever would have imagined, too...
It was my first time living absolutely by myself. I feel like I gained such a sense of independence having to cook my own meals, pay for my own groceries, do my own laundry, schedule my own appointments, and so on. I learned to roll my own cigarettes and drink my own beers. I learned how to hitchhike and get around by myself. I learned a lot about how people work. I learned that age is only a number. I learned that beauty can be found in many unsuspected places; In a woodcut clearing at 3 in the morning, beside a Frankenstein Ford blaring heavy metal mayhem with a man wearing a Megadeth shirt and a crooked, naughty smile. In the broken heart of a young actor halfway across the country from his home, softly sobbing while you hold him close and let him know that everything will work out, there are plenty more fish in the sea. Under the gargantuan star-specked night sky, perched on the back of a yacht stirring the phosphorescent ocean with a net and the essence of summer romance with two youthful souls. I found myself surrounded by different, wonderful music. I discovered a love for life that I never expected to find. And I discovered how much of a difference you can see in the world if you simply smile more.
In the beginning of the summer, me and my friend were discussing how everyone told us how much we were going to grow and change in the next few months, and how we really didn't see anything happening. Later, at the end of the season, as we exchanged our goodbyes, we looked at each other and realized that it had all happened right before our eyes- that we were completely different people than had gotten here only a few months before. The changes are amazing and I am so thankful I came here (instead of working at a burger joint in my hometown, which was my other option!). And so I welcome this autumn with a fresh view on the world around me. There are so many opportunities waiting around us- we only have to open our eyes. ♥
Songs of my Summer:
Bob Marley - Redemption Song
Xiu Xiu - I Love The Valley, OH!
Tor/Sufjan Stevens - The Dress Looks Nice on You / Make You Feel That Way (f. Gift of Gab)
k-Os - Superstar, Pt. 1
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - Fishing in the Dark
Horse Feathers - Curs in the Weeds
Beulah - Your Mother Loves You, Son
Joanna Newsom - Sadie
Dirt Nasty - 1980 (Haha, some great memories at the lake blasting this... oh, the looks we got...)
Anyways.... I hope everyone had a great summer as well! Feel free to leave me your favorite summer memory... it's fun to reminisce. &heartsl ♥ ♥

Joanna Newsom - Sadie
Dirt Nasty - 1980 (Haha, some great memories at the lake blasting this... oh, the looks we got...)
Anyways.... I hope everyone had a great summer as well! Feel free to leave me your favorite summer memory... it's fun to reminisce. &heartsl ♥ ♥

beaw~

Hey guys! It's cold and rainy and pooey here for the first time in over a month! Craziness! So, I'm mumping it up and sitting in my trailer, cruising the web and munching out. So, I've decided to share some links with you in case you would like to virtually mump out with me!
(Oh, and mumping: (verb) to sit in your housecoat and eat comfort foods in front of your computer for hours on end in an attempt to cheer yourself up.)
the N - I have no clue how I found this website, but it's for some television channel that's not available where I am. I like doing their quizzes, and sometimes they have interesting articles and stuff. Their Thing du Jour feature is usually pretty neat, too!
Prima Storia - This is a collection of short fictional stories... so fun to read when you have nothing to do! I love the one about the cat.
I Wrote This For You - I just found this yesterday, and spent hours going through it. I have no clue how to describe it. Just check it out. It's beautiful!
BONER PARTY!!! - A tribute to all things boner-worthy. Super cute!
Ctrl-Alt-Del - I love webcomics. Especially this one! It's got such a good storyline, sometimes I wonder if I'm only staying alive so I can read the next comic. Seriously. Have a whole day to waste? Read this from the beginning. It's about gaming, life, love, friends, randomness... mmm.
this is my heart. it is a good heart. - I also just found this yesterday, and I absolutely adore the quotes and pictures. ♥
PostSecret - I read this every Sunday. I'm not sure what it is about reading anonymous secrets, but it really makes me feel a part of something? Check it out, you might become addicted.
The Hype Machine - This is a wonderful website. It's helped me find such great music, and you can listen to music for free without even having to download it, so it's super useful if you're near a computer and really want to hear a certain song.
Sunshine monologue. - This is another beautiful blog. The author has such a way with words, and the way that they're all written on a typewriter is so neat! I think I fell in love with him after reading a couple pages. And, I downloaded the mixtape on it, and it's absolutely wonderful!
So there you have it - a couple things to hopefully keep you entertained. After all, it's better than refreshing facebook repeatedly~
lovelovelove! and please, keep smiling!
