Video Games!

Hello lovelies! Here's a post on the things which take up most of my spare time (Next to painting and studying, and mindlessly browsing Facebook of course!)... Video games! *dun dun dun* My wonderful man actually got me a PS3 for my birthday, and I love it so much! We've only got a couple games so far, but I'll let you know what I think of the ones I play. First and foremost...
  • Oblivion! This is my favorite game in the whole wide world. I even have it on my laptop! I've played all three versions of it, and next to computer, I think the Playstation version is pretty decent. The controls are fairly easy to use, and it's a very straightforward game. It starts out with a very detailed character creator, where you can tweak their faces quite precisely. There are a number of races and backgrounds to choose from, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. From there, once you complete the orientation, you are free to explore the world as you please. There is one main quest line, and a gazillion other quests you can choose to do, factions to join, skills to acquire... ahh. What a wonderful time waster! In the 31 days that we've had the game, my boyfriend has actually logged over 70 hours on it! It is soo addictive!
  • Dragon Age: Origins - I just got this RPG for Christmas, and haven't really been able to play it much. It seems to be interesting though, for you can choose a race and background, and start off with a unique story. I'm pretty sure all the stories end up at the same place, in a giant war against some evil forces. It's your typical fantasy game with the character choice of Human, Elf or Dwarf, and you can choose to be a Warrior, Mage or Rouge, each with different bonuses. You have a main character and a party of up to 3 other characters, which you can switch to at any time. So far, it's pretty fun, but I haven't quite got all the controls yet which is pretty annoying. Oh well!
  • Skate 2 - Yes, this is definitely my boyfriends game. He wouldn't let me create my own character on it, and I didn't want to mess up his account, so I haven't got to try this one much. It seems pretty fun, especially since you can move things around in the environment, and get off your board, which I'm pretty sure you couldn't do in the original game. You do tricks by moving and flicking the analog sticks, and it's not too hard to get a grasp on. I think I will look forward to playing this one more.
  • Lego Batman - I also got this for Christmas, and I am stuck on the first level. Seriously. It is so upsetting! From what the instruction manual says, it should be a really fun game. You can play as Batman, Robin, or any of the villains! (Once you unlock them, that is.) So maybe I'll sneak a peek at a walkthrough, and get past that damned first stage.
We also have a Need for Speed game, but I haven't tried it yet. Usually I am really really bad at realistic-type racing games! I like MarioKart a lot though :3
So my deers, what do you think? Do you love gaming as well? Hate it? Think your console's better? Have a favorite game you'd like to share? I'd love to hear it all! ♥ ♥ ♥

  3. I love this post! I'm a huge gamer, though I prefer Fallout 3 to Oblivion and Mass Effect to Dragon Age. They're both super similar so when you need some new games check them out. I think Mass Effect is 360 only? Not sure.

I picked up Assassins Creed 2 yesterday and it's so amazing.

Also, thanks so much for adding my banner. I should make one for LovelyLor. We're good friends.

  4. Thank you so much for the feedback! I think Fallout 3 was one of the next ones we were going to pick up! Everyone describes it as "Oblivion, but with guns", and I'm pretty sure I could work with that. I absolutely adore my Playstation, but a lot of the games I would like to play are Xbox-only titles. Thank goodness my laptop can run most games!
I've played the first Assasin's Creed, it was pretty neat. I think I might want to check out Bioshock, it looks sort of creepy though!
And, thanks for making a banner! It's very lovely. :) And it would be super awesome to get one for Lor too, I really enjoy her blog as well. It makes me want to go to California really badly!
